the process

  1. Determine your budget and desired package.
  2. Fill out our contact form to check if we are available for your date. Currently accepting bookings for 2018!
  3. Meet us for some coffee. We're buying! Great time to hear more about you, your desires, and answer your questions. If you live outside the Twin Cities Metro area, Skype and FaceTime are very convenient for most couples.
  4. Everything for booking is online: questionnaire and contract through WeddingWire, invoice from QuickBooks to pay securely online with a card.
    • 30% is due at the time of booking along with the signed electronic contract
    • 30% is due one month before the wedding
    • 40% is due after approval of the edits and before final delivery
  5. A month before your wedding, we have a followup call to go over details one more time and say hi.
  6. You receive a preview of your edit(s) and can give feedback. Once the edits are approved, the final invoice is sent.
  7. After final payment is received, you'll receive your link and password to your online DVD, and we'll mail the external hard drive with raw footage and final rendered films to you. If you ordered discs, they will be shipped with the external drive.

faq

Q: Why should I add videography to my budget when I'm already spending so much on photography? Beautiful photos are great, but photographers won't record your vows, speeches, or the crazy dance routine your Uncle Louie pulls out of nowhere. Couples frequently tell us their highlight film helps them relive their special day in the best way possible. Also, in two or three decades from now, all you'll have left of your wedding is photos and video.

Q: Why shouldn't my family member or friend film my wedding? Weddings are complex, live events full of twists and turns. Having the right experience, skills, and equipment means the difference between a beautiful wedding film and a bunch of shaky shots of random stuff. BTW, your family and friends want to ATTEND your wedding, not work at it.

Q: How long until I receive my edits? 4-8 weeks after your wedding.

Q: Why don't you offer DVD's with my package? We find most couples prefer the convenience of the online DVD. Disc media is also lower quality versions of the full resolution films, and you can't break or lose an online DVD.

Q: What's your filming style? We are a cinematic documentary wedding company, but we tend more towards the documentary end of the spectrum. Usually, we never pose a couple or very rarely do we do that. Our goal is to capture your wedding as it happens, not a bunch of staged shots. Decades from now, we want you to relive your amazing day (along with kids and grandkids who aren't alive yet!).

Q: How do you work with my other vendors? Your photographer has their list of shots they need to get. We get what we need around their timeline. If we need something, we'll politely ask. Your DJ is usually the MC for the reception. We have great communication with both of these vendors throughout the day to make sure we are all on the same page. We freely share good ideas with others and hope others will tell us of better ways to do things. Representatives of the ceremony and reception sites love us because we ask them how we can make their jobs easier, and we go with the flow, whatever that looks like.

Q: What about music for my highlight? We ask couples what style or genre of music do they want to hear in their highlight film. Then we go to sites like soundstripe.com and songfreedom.com to legally license those tracks for wedding films. HOWEVER, we're not dictators like some producers in that you may have a copyrighted song that means the world to you. If that's the case, we'll use it, but we try avoid using copyrighted music.
